A cool find...

This one is from the girls... they requested to have it posted... found in our backyard. As of yet unidentified but we are assuming the thistle family.

could be wild cucumber. It's a bit hard to tell from the angle
They are common in this area, grow on vines and have a pod or cucumber about every 12 inches or so on the vine.

If it is a cucumber, inside the pod will be 2 black seeds (unless they have been liberated) and the inside will look a bit like a loofa.

Google has some pics but many of them are when the pod is green.
