It has grown!

Our marsh ecosystem has flourished over the past few weeks, and we have to give you an update.

The plants have shot up and considering that they are growing in approximately 2" of soil, we are just not sure how far they can go!
The snail seems content, and we have discovered a few other tiny species flitting back and forth in the bottom of our marsh.

We have been wary of the recent appearance of transparent sacs against the side of our bowl and will keep you posted with further developments...
possibly a second generation?
(I already had to descibe what hermaphrodite meant!)

On a side note;
Does anyone know when in the season garden snails appear?

Wow - those got big!
You can plant them outside if you have a pond. Or I can take them back to Hamilton Marsh for you.
Can't wait to hear about what else might be growing in there.

We have garden snails out here now - have had them for a few weeks - but of course we are way south :P

Emily loves snails. Do you want her to catch you some? We had 8 living in the habitat on the dining room table for a while.
We've also found a giant slug again. Did you see the leopard slug we had a couple of years ago - if not check out my blog - search slug.
